It was a beautiful day yesterday. I got home from work early and we spent some time working in the yard. I weeded around the roses and planted some Dahlia bulbs. Meanwhile, Devin got supplies together for the raised garden bed we've been planning since before we even knew we were buying a house.
The construction was pretty simple, but a two person job. I held the boards in place while Devin drilled in screws to make a four foot by eight foot box, about 20 inches high.
It was a fun project and we can't wait to get our seedlings planted

Foraged delights

The other day Robin appeared like a fungus faerie with a basket full of foraged wildcrafted 'shrooms. We let them dry for the past couple of days and tonight we decided to put them to use. This seemed like the ideal time to start le blogg. The preparation was with farfalle pasta, shallots, rainbow chard and sherry. The sherry and the shallots really complimented the chanterelles. We documented this process with photographs. You can really feel the passion with which Devin grinds pepper We both throughly enjoyed the meal.
